You want to move forward with AI. But not at the expense of your data, your people or your reputation. Time for an AI wake-up call.
Cybersecurity expert and AI realist Erik Jan Koedijk cuts straight through the hype and disinformation. He shakes your organisation awake and gives you practical ways to integrate AI safely and build digital resilience.
01
Erik Jan has spent more than 30 years at the heart of crises, hacks and digital transformations. When the internet emerged, he was one of its pioneers in the Netherlands. In 1999 he introduced SurfControl to make browsing safer in schools and organisations. Later, at NOKIA, he helped protect some of the world’s largest companies.
When the GGD data breach made headlines in 2021, he was called in the very next day. He served as the Netherlands’ national crisis manager for ICT & Data Security for three years. Now that AI is on every boardroom agenda, his mission is to shake organisations awake and offer a realistic perspective.
02
Technology changes, but we keep making the same mistakes. The tool gets all the attention. People get forgotten. And then things go wrong.
Erik Jan sees time and again how vulnerable organisations become when policy is missing, and what changes when people and leadership are put at the centre. That is the common thread running through everything he does. And why his books, keynotes and masterclasses have real impact.
03
Kevin Mitnick, the world’s most famous hacker, taught Erik Jan how hackers think: how they get into organisations through people, and how to stop them.
They met shortly after Mitnick was released, and together they gave presentations and talks to employees and board members. Mitnick died in 2023. His lessons live on in every masterclass and keynote Erik Jan gives.
04
Over the past 10 years, Erik Jan has opened the eyes of more than 3,000 professionals through his books, keynotes and masterclasses on AI and cybersecurity. He also developed the PSEP® model, a practical framework for safe AI integration that helps organisations assess whether something is safe, fair and future-proof.
Erik Jan works throughout the Kingdom of the Netherlands and beyond. From the Netherlands to Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and, more recently, Barbados.
